About
Project Tips is a place where we’ll talk about project management and what it’s like to be new to leadership. There are many blogs directed at the seasoned project manager but I’m seeing a lack of resources for the reluctant project manager.
Perhaps you’re someone who is technically skilled, and now your manager has asked you to be the “tech lead” on a project. Perhaps you’re a teacher and you want to lead a successful community service project in your classroom. Perhaps you’ve been doing project management for a long time and you’d just like a place where you can relax and ask questions about the challenges you face.
I feel that good project management is crucial in our modern business environment in that it helps to create a sustainable economy. So much of modern business is based on “using up” resources, especially when it comes to work-life balance. Let’s figure out a better way to get things done.
I am certified as a Project Management Professional (PMP) by the Project Management Institute (PMI), a global leader in the development of standards for the practice of project management. Before I founded Facilitated Change, I worked for Hewlett-Packard in California and Idaho for 12 years as a systems administrator and project manager. I also teach at the graduate level and am an experienced meeting facilitator and workshop leader. I hold an MBA from the Anderson Graduate School of Management at UCLA.
